Writing is, in my opinion, the purest distillation of ideas and value—it strips away everything unnecessary and forces you to the essence of what you actually think.
I started writing to bring clarity to ideas I'm exploring. When there are so many thoughts swirling in your head as you think through complex problems, writing is the best way to crystallize your thinking.
Developing Ideas Systematically
When thoughts stay in your head, they feel complete. Put them on paper and you refine the logic, surface new connections, and commit to clear positions. Writing helps me work through interesting questions methodically.
Curating My Own Record
Only 70% of what I think now might be the same as a year from now. And I think there's value in tracking how my thinking evolves over time. I want to see which insights hold up and which don't. Putting it in public makes you curate more thoughtfully.
Finding Resonance
If these thoughts connect with others, I'd love to hear about it. The best ideas emerge through conversation. When someone builds on your thinking or points out what you missed, it pushes ideas further than they'd go alone.
Conclusion
Writing has always been one of my favorite pastimes. The value and clarity of doing it in public might just make it worthwhile.
